💥 Cutting Edge with Shoal Research
In collaboration with Shoal Research, this week’s edition will focus on Drift Protocol.
What is it? Drift Protocol is a decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the Solana blockchain, primarily focusing on perpetual swap contracts. These contracts allow traders to speculate on the price of an asset without owning it, offering a means for leveraged trading.
What Does it Do? Drift has recently introduced a new feature called "Bet," the first capital-efficient prediction market on Solana. "Bet" allows users to predict the outcomes of various events—like sports games or elections—by placing wagers in a decentralized manner.
What Does it Represent? Drift Protocol represents a convergence of decentralized trading and predictive analytics within the crypto space. It also highlights the potential for Solana to support more complex financial instruments, boosting its position as a key player in the blockchain space.
Why is it Unique? With its innovative approach to perpetual swaps and now prediction markets, Drift Protocol is poised to capture significant market share in the DeFi space on Solana.
